This easy twenty-minute butter chicken recipe is a must-try for everyone. And the best part about this recipe is its delicious taste. Even though, It’s cook just under twenty minutes. Yes, your food will not taste bland or less flavorful just because you took the short route for an iconic dish. Butter chicken is a pure delicacy; its aroma alone is enough to make you fall in love with it. The thick creamy sauce of butter chicken packs a punch full of flavours. Although most Indian curries are complicated and time-consuming, Butter chicken is an exception. So, without wasting more time, let us jump right to our recipe.
20 MINUTE BUTTER CHICKEN RECIPE:
This twenty-minute butter chicken recipe is deconstructed into a more accessible and quick version. This means we are not going for overnight marination. But If you want to marinate it overnight, I’ve included the method to marinate at the end of the recipe.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of plain yogurt
2 medium sized blended tomatoes
1.5 lb / 750 g chicken ( boneless and cut into bite sized pieces)
1 large onion ( diced)
2 tablespoon crushed garlic
1/2 cup full cream
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoon butter
salt to taste
black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon crushed chilli flakes/ chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon cummin powder
2 green chillies (cut into big chunks)
2 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
Instructions:
Put diced onion in cooking oil and fry till golden brown.
Add garlic and chicken and cook until the chicken changes to a golden brown.
Now add salt, red chilli powder, black pepper, turmeric powder and cummin powder.
After seasoning add blended tomato and stir well ( occasionally add a splash of water into your pot).
Add yogurt and let it cook until the oil is separated and the tomato looks fully cooked.
Your last step is adding cream and cooking for two to three minutes.
Lastly, add butter, garam masala, green chillies and coriander for garnish, turn off the stove and put lid on top f your pot and let it rest for 5 minutes.
You can serve it with boiled rice or flat bread ( Chapati).

Method 02:
Suppose you have time and want to go with marinating your chicken first. Then follow these easy three steps. Please note that the ingredients will remain the same; you must cook chicken and gravy separately.
Instructions:
Mix yogurt, turmeric powder, pinch of salt, black pepper, red chilli and garlic paste into a bowl. Add chicken and let it rest for two to three hours. Note that , onions are not used in this method.
Mix blended tomato paste, cream and salt for gravy.
Put oil in a pot and fry your chicken pieces until they turn white overall. Don’t pour your marinated ingredients into the pot.
Now put your gravy ingredients over the chicken pieces. Also, add leftover marinated ingredients and let it simmer for fifteen minutes. Lastly, add butter, coriander leaves and green chillies for garnish.
