Position: Behavorial Health Technician

Location: On Site in Jupiter, FL

$19-21 Hourly Based On Experience

Must Haves:

• High School / GED
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
• HIGHLY preferred but during orientation period everyone will be obtaining or re-establishing their CPR/BLS with the team.
• At least 1 year working in a healthcare setting (preferably with youth/in behavioral health setting).
• 1-year minimum working in healthcare or in behavioral health setting
• Comfortable working in a youth rehabilitation / psychiatric center
• Must be able to prioritize workload, effectively multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment. Excellent listening, communication, prioritization and follow through skills with strong focus on providing high quality patient care.

Plusses:

• Registered Behavioral Tech Certification (RBT)
• Associate’s degree
• 1 + years working in youth behavioral healthcare setting

Please note:

• Preceptor Program: First two-week orientation/shadow/credentialling (Paid)
• Shift (2-weeks) : M-W: 7AM-3:30PM / W-F: 1PM-9PM

Day-to-Day:

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) plays a crucial role in the patient treatment team, working under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. This position involves providing comprehensive care and support to patients, different groups of adolescents, depending on the specific unit. The MHT is responsible for maintaining a therapeutic environment, ensuring patient safety, and facilitating therapeutic activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the therapeutic environment to ensure it is conducive to healing and recovery. This includes maintaining a structured and supportive atmosphere.
• Provide constant supervision and care to patients, always ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Engage with patients through positive interactions, serving as a role model to encourage healthy behaviors and coping strategies.
• Ensure a safe environment for all patients by monitoring their activities and surroundings, addressing any potential hazards promptly.
• Lead and facilitate therapeutic groups for patients, focusing on various aspects of mental health and well-being.
• Participate in crisis intervention situations, providing immediate support and de-escalation to maintain a safe and stable environment.
• Implement therapeutic interventions as outlined by the treatment team, tailored to each patient's individualized plan of care. This includes understanding and working towards the patient's specific goals and interventions.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, behaviors, and progress. Communicate effectively with the treatment team to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care.
