Commercial Loan Officer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Loan Officer to join our team and help support the assessment, structuring, and origination of business and commercial real estate loans. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their financial needs and developing tailored lending solutions that support business growth while maintaining risk management standards.

As a Commercial Loan Officer, you will evaluate loan applications, analyze financial data, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless loan processing from application to closing. Ideal candidates will bring a strong understanding of commercial lending, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent client service.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on suitable commercial lending options based on their business goals and financial profile.
• Gather and analyze financial documents including income statements, balance sheets, and credit histories.
• Collaborate with credit analysts and other departments to prepare and present loan packages.
• Conduct due diligence throughout the loan lifecycle, from initial application to closing documentation.
• Structure and negotiate loan terms that align with both client needs and internal policies.
• Maintain and monitor an active loan portfolio, ensuring compliance and risk standards are met.
• Review and respond to applicant questions, explaining loan terms, deficiencies, or application outcomes.
• Prepare detailed loan proposals for review by credit committees or senior management.
• Stay current on lending policies, industry regulations, and economic trends that affect credit markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or financial services.
• Proven expertise in evaluating financial statements and structuring commercial loans.
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations, loan compliance, and risk management.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
• Experience with loan origination systems and financial analysis tools is preferred.
