Job Summary :

Day-to-day :

  • Research, develop, and test electrical systems, electrical designs, electrical controls, technical solutions, software, and procedures.
  • Modify existing designs, solutions, and software
  • Writing manuals for design specs
  • Support current and new designs for aircraft carrier parts, controls, and manuals
  • Maintaining electrical system diagrams
  • Provide technical solutions (paper products)
  • Design new controls for CVN 80, 81, & 82 (new construction)
  • Communicate with internal and external customers (NAVSEA, NAVY, and FLEET/Waterfront)
  • Test ship products in lab to ensure work is correct
  • Write instruction manuals for how to use parts on carrier
  • Review submittals, drawings, and test results from vendors
  • Make technical decisions on product reviews
  • Support all functions on New Construction (CVN 80, 81, & 82) and Fleet Support (CVN 78 & 79)
  • Make recommendations to government customers

Must Haves :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited university/program
  • 0-3 year of relevant professional experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Highly motivated and self-driven
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
