Job Responsibility/Expectations:
Provide hands-on, creative, play-based learning experiences that lay the foundation for joyful, life-long learning.
Teach assigned second grade subjects based on the curriculum such as Math, Reading, Writing, Language arts etc. in a fun and engaging learning environment.
Promote language and literacy development through the use of developmentally appropriate practices.
Use data to inform and plan for teaching/learning and utilize the Autism QED methodologies
Implement developed goals, objectives, curriculum and strategies to ensure consistent learning and standards.
Utilize a variety of creative teaching strategies to match the learning needs of the student.
Classroom structure: organized well-planned and well-paced lessons.
Foster a learning environment emphasizing cognitive, social and emotional growth.
Engage in a broad array of thoughtful activities that build a bridge between schooling and home.
Professional environment where developmentally appropriate practices through play-based and inquiry-based learning are encouraged.
Engage in continual professional growth and development
Demonstrate a willingness to learn, grow and further develop your teaching skills through content mastery and improved student learning.
Contribute to the overall professional learning by collaborating with colleagues, accepting coaching and other forms of teaching support and actively participating in all professional development opportunities.

Qualification/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Elementary Education.
3 or more years of successful teaching experience within the last 5 years.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and instructional tools.
Collaborates well with colleagues of diverse backgrounds on curricular alignment and instructional strategies.
Demonstrate professional behavior, including discretion, judgment and integrity.
Must be a team player and have excellent classroom management skills along with project based teaching experience.
