Our challenge

We are seeking an experienced Lead Java Developer with a strong background in Python and Large Language Models (LLMs) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of software development experience with a proven track record in leading development teams, architecting solutions, and delivering high-quality software products.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is 110K to 120K/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Java-based applications while integrating Python for data processing and machine learning tasks.
  • Architect and develop scalable solutions using LLMs to enhance application functionality and user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scopes, and develop project plans.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers in coding standards, best practices, and innovative technologies.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to software development methodologies and practices.
  • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly in Java, Python, and AI/ML.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with extensive experience in Java and Python.
  • Proven experience with LLMs and their integration into production applications.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, or similar.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, React, or Angular).
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git).
