Position: Construction Project Manager

Location: Missouri City, Texas

Republic Masonry & Fencing is part of the Millis Family of Companies and has developed a reputation as a trusted and reliable resource for commercial and industrial masonry construction and is one of Houston’s fastest growing fencing companies. We specialize in single-wythe brick walls, wood fences, precast concrete walls, entry monuments, and various style fences and gates.

Summary of Position: The Project Manager is the company’s team leader on assigned jobs. The PM is assigned the responsibility and authority for business management, client's satisfaction and profitability of the job. It is the PM’s ultimate responsibility to ensure, or to initiate any action necessary for the work to be done safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the company’s quality standards and contract documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Thorough review and understanding of all project needs and elements, including specific challenges anticipated to take place during the job.
  • Oversee and initiate project pre-con, both internally and with external subcontractors.
  • Continuous management and analysis of the project budget to ensure profitability and control cost.
  • Timely and efficient buyout, contract issuance, scope negotiations, and conformance to all contractual terms and conditions.
  • Manage RFI’s, submittals, plan updates, etc.
  • Prepare monthly owner payment applications.
  • Identifying and mitigating financial risk.
  • Set up of monthly project review forms.
  • Implement and promote safe practices on jobsites.
  • Develop comprehensive project schedules and monitor monthly to ensure project remains on-track to complete in the allotted contractual timeframe.
  • Issue and review all change orders, invoices, and purchase orders for subcontractors and owners.
  • Create and distribute weekly progress updates.
  • Project cash flow projections and subsequent updates for accounting purposes.
  • Substantial completion and final completion must be certified.
  • Communications with project teams, corporate office, including Accounting, Estimating, project Owners and Design Consultants is key to keeping Project Team current, transparent and set up for success.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience managing commercial ground-up construction projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
