Job Description

CRIMSON, a Detroit-based integrated marketing and public relations firm, is seeking a full-time public relations account coordinator. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or journalism, previous internship(s), and/or 1-2 years of professional PR experience. The account coordinator will help with miscellaneous public relations duties with direction and supervision from the VP of Strategic Communications. Our modern office in a historic building is just a few blocks from Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit. 

 Responsibilities Include:

• Writing press releases, media pitches, and other key client content
• Creating media coverage reports
• Creating media lists
• Researching reporters, media outlets, and client-related topics
• Scheduling and attending account meetings, creating meeting agendas, and taking meeting notes/action items from client calls/meetings
• Some social media work may be needed as well as other agency duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, or similar major
• Excellent writing and organizational skills
• Experience with Google Suite, media monitoring, and related public relations tools
• Creativity, strong work ethic, dedication, and desire to learn and grow in the position and the public relations field
• Candidates from recent graduates to two years of experience are encouraged to apply



Benefits:

• This is a hybrid position with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Monday & Wednesday are mandatory days in the office.
