As a Speech-Language Pathologist, SLP, you will provide exceptional care to help patients gain oral-motor control and cognition in order to perform oral and communicative functions, such as sound production, vocalizing, chewing, swallowing, etc., effectively.
Speech-Language Pathologist, SLP tasks will include, but are not limited to:
· Review authorized orders for therapy services, and perform and document initial evaluation to determine patients’ oral-motor deficits, and identify the therapeutic needs and goals specific to the patients to maintain, develop, and/or restore oral-motor function in Home Care environment .
· Speech Language Pathologist, SLP perform clinical assessments to define functional and communicative impairment and developmental and/or restorative potential. Confer with patient, family, medical treatment team to determine maintenance, developmental, and restorative therapeutic goals.
· Track and document treatments, responses, and progress. Reevaluate, redefine therapeutic goals, and develop new treatment plans as necessary.
· Recommend Augmentative Communication Devices for non-verbal patients if necessary.
· Provide training for patients, caregivers, families, as well as other health team personnel on using Augmentative Communication Devices, oral-motor exercises, communication techniques, etc.
