We’re looking for a hands-on embedded systems software lead to develop and optimize mission-critical software for defense technology. This role requires strong leadership alongside deep technical expertise —you’ll be managing a small team while continuing to code, troubleshoot, and push the boundaries of embedded software innovation.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and optimize embedded software using Yocto, Buildroot, or similar build systems
• Develop and maintain low-level software , including bootloaders, device drivers, and board support packages
• Lead a small team of engineers, ensuring technical direction, resource allocation, and execution
• Debug and troubleshoot software performance and system integration issues
• Implement security hardening and ensure resilience in embedded environments
• Work in a fast-paced, high-impact setting where adaptability and problem-solving are key

What You Bring

• Active TS Security Clearance – required
• 8+ years of experience developing embedded software in C, C++, or Rust
• 8+ years leading software development teams, driving technical decisions, and mentoring engineers
• Strong experience with embedded Linux and real-time operating systems
• Ability to navigate complex codebases , optimize performance, and ensure system security
• Experience integrating software with hardware (but this is a software role, not hardware design)
