Job Description

A client, based in St. Paul, Minnesota, is looking to hire a Technical Sales Manager, fully remote, for their Western/Bay Area Territory. This person will have uncapped commission potential and will not only receive a book of already established business but will get the chance to grow their clientele and further penetrate lucrative accounts. This person will need to develop business plans to expand the customer base and maximize profit. We are looking for someone to work with existing and new customers to discuss and fully understand their requirements, create and provide proposals for solutions and ensure a smooth sales process. This person will need to be able to travel 25-50% of the time for in-person meetings/events and should come from life science/biotech sales. We are looking for someone who lives in this territory already so Vancouver down past Fresno, CA to Salt Lake City, UT.

Must Haves:

  • College degree
  • Minimum 8 years sales experience preferably in Life Sciences or with consumables
  • Proven experience growing a territory, while maintaining current clients through relationship building
  • Must have superior presentation, organization and communication skills
  • Strong commitment to quality service
  • Demonstrated ability in the management of large accounts
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of time and work from a remote home office

Day To Day:

  • Grow and further penetrate an existing key account customer base in the Western Territory (Bay Area, Nevada, Utah, etc.)
  • Manage complex projects while pulling together multiple cross-functional resources to solve customer applications challenges
  • Utilize market research and expertise to establish a goal-oriented territory plan focused on the promotion of products and services with our major markets.
  • Report territory activity through SalesForce, Forecasts, Key account profiles, Sales call reports and other forms requested from time to time.
  • Understand, negotiate and communicate sales transaction terms and conditions in order to transfer to other internal resources to manage.
  • As an opportunity develops, work closely and openly with Technical Service members to ensure customers
  • Responsible to develop and present RFQ resource requests that clearly convey business needs, project approaches, relevancy to core competencies, and customer benefits
  • On an annual basis, be fully engaged with the Sales Forecasting planning providing as accurate information and reasons for increase/static/decrease activity. To update Customer Service Team with any changes to forecasts throughout the year
  • Implement, manage and communicate pricing changes with customers, including annual price increases as appropriate
  • Prospecting/Sales call activity
  • Implement territory plan and meet or exceed sales goals
  • Strategically plan and execute overall sales strategy within the assigned territory to maximize effectiveness and produce sales results.
  • Carefully plan each sales presentation by anticipating customer needs and or objections and the response to best close each opportunity.
  • Utilize strategic selling acumen and listening skills to uncover customer needs and opportunities.
  • Deliver clear, concise, relevant messaging to target audiences and provide solutions to customers and prospects to drive desired outcomes and close the sale.
  • Employ solution-selling techniques to identify business needs, and develop customized solutions to solve client business problems
  • Understand competitors' strengths and weaknesses and effectively articulate and execute sales by highlighting competitive advantage
  • Demonstrate effective negotiation and closing techniques in securing profitable business
  • Prospect and open new key accounts

Base Salary of $100K + uncapped commission
