Floriology Institute is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Floriology Education Assistant to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. This role is pivotal in supporting the educational and operational aspects of our floral design programs. The Floriology Education Assistant will be instrumental in preparing and maintaining the necessary materials and environments for both classroom learning and online engagement, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for our students.
- Process flowers for classes and photo shoots, ensuring all materials are ready and available for instructors and students. This includes the meticulous cleaning and maintenance of the cooler, workroom, classroom, and all floral containers. Physical labor is involved but not limited to, setting up tables, cleaning the classroom, sanitizing and scrubbing buckets, moving water filled buckets of flowers in and out of the cooler and classroom. Please note this job is not a Monday-Friday position. Class begins on Sunday’s and will require additional time to ensure the students have a good experience. Not all of our classes are held in the Jacksonville office, you will be required to do some traveling and driving the rental vans.
- Oversee the inventory of flowers and supplies, conducting regular checks to maintain an accurate record of materials on hand, and ensuring timely ordering and replenishment. Physical labor is involved but not limited to, carrying supplies to and from our supply room located on the second floor of the warehouse, keeping supplies stored in their correct area in an orderly manner.
- Provide direct assistance in the classroom and to students, contributing to an environment conducive to learning and creativity. This includes driving students to and from the school as needed, fostering a supportive community. Please note this job is not a Monday-Friday position. Class begins on Sunday’s and will require additional time to ensure the students have a good experience. Meeting students at the hotel at 7:30 AM and transporting them to and from the school after 5 PM will help ensure their positive experience. Please keep in mind that you will work some Saturday’s and Sunday’s, and overtime may be required. Catering for photo shoots and classes will need to be completed several weeks in advance.
- Utilize Salesforce to input student leads, actively engage with potential students through calls, emails, and texts to promote our classes, and maintain a billing spreadsheet for financial tracking. Your role will also include crafting and sending newsletters, developing student reminders, and supporting the Floriology Digital Magazine on an as needed basis.
- Some responsibilities will encompass design work, video editing, and updating our website (Thinkific) to ensure our online presence is current and compelling. You will also be tasked with posting to all social media platforms with Pinterest and Google updates to broaden our reach and engagement. A creative posting schedule should be created for each month to ensure that we are posting the correct content and in a timely manner.
- In addition to the creative and educational support, you will handle various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our educational programs. This includes but is not limited to, maintaining an organized and efficient work environment and supporting the billing and invoicing process. Researching topics for classes, creating quizzes, grading exams, shooting and editing video, and images for use in all potential creative, maintaining a databank for future use.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, BA in Marketing, Digital Marketing, PR and/or Communications preferred
- 2 to 3 years experience working in a floral retail business, specifically in floral design
- Experience with Mac preferred
