Job Description

Description – Broadcast Engineer

Job at a glance:

  • 6-month contract (Possibility of temp to perm)
  • $60/hr + optional benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401k)
  • Onsite (Stamford, CT)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide front-line broadcast engineering and technical support across multiple studios and control rooms within the Stamford Sports facility.
  • Support all broadcast systems and technology for live day-of-air programs.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and systems.
  • Comply with computer security policies.
  • Manage projects that include system design, integration, and commissioning.
  • Perform system-level troubleshooting of technical facilities, including control rooms, studio equipment, audio equipment, and associated computer systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on studio and control room equipment.
  • Assist Studio Operations with technical setup in control rooms and studios.
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to implement technical solutions that meet production initiatives.
  • Install and update equipment and systems software.
  • Repair and troubleshoot equipment to the module level using industry-standard test equipment.
  • Manage projects, design systems, and assist with system integration and commissioning.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or broadcasting.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networks.
  • Knowledge of digital TV (HDSDI).
  • Proficiency in software-driven broadcast video equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand system signal flow diagrams for television control room and studio facilities.
  • Proficient in Chyron graphic systems
  • Experience with Avid Media Composer and Avid Interplay
  • Experience in system design, AutoCAD, and project management
  • Knowledge of SMPTE 2110 standards
