Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized HR Benefits Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will provide essential support in healthcare benefits administration, leave of absence management, payroll processing, and HR compliance . This position requires a strong understanding of employee benefits, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Benefits & Retirement Administration:

  • Process employee benefit and retirement elections using payroll and benefit provider platforms.
  • Conduct benefit reporting and reconcile invoices.
  • Assist employees with benefit-related concerns and work with providers to troubleshoot issues.

Leave of Absence Management:

  • Administer and track leave of absence requests.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state leave laws, including FMLA and other applicable regulations.

Payroll Support:

  • Maintain accurate payroll data entry and assist with payroll processing.
  • Handle wage garnishments, employment verifications, and related payroll tasks.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Stay up to date on state and federal employment laws, including benefits and leave policies.
  • Assist with audits, subpoenas, and compliance-related documentation.

Employee Records & Onboarding:

  • Maintain personnel records and manage new hire onboarding.
  • Track required paperwork and employee policy acknowledgments.
  • Oversee termination processes and documentation.

Employee Support & HR Projects:

  • Serve as a resource for employees, addressing HR-related inquiries.
  • Provide general support to the HR team on various administrative projects.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of HR experience , with a focus on benefits administration.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with COBRA, FMLA, and state/federal employment laws .
  • Technical Skills: Experience with HRIS, payroll software, and benefits platforms preferred.
  • Key Competencies: Strong attention to detail, ability to manage confidential information, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Typical office environment with regular computer-based work.
  • Occasional light lifting of files and office materials.
  • Frequent interactions with employees and benefits providers.
