Position Details:

• Role: Contract Occupational Therapist
• Location: Schools near Westchester, NY
• School Year: 2024-2025 with renewal option
• Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, regular school hours
• Caseload: Opportunities to work with students diagnosed with autism at the Pre-K and Elementary levels

Experience & Requirements:

• Prior experience working with children with autism is preferred
• Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is a plus
• NY Occupational Therapy Licensure (or eligibility)
• Pediatric experience is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy to children with developmental delays and functional impairments related to autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve motor skills, sensory processing, daily living skills, and overall independence.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to address fine motor skills, coordination, self-regulation, and sensory processing challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive support for students’ development within the classroom and school environment.
• Monitor and track student progress, adjusting therapy interventions as needed to ensure continued growth and success.
• Conduct and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to ensure occupational therapy goals are aligned with educational and developmental objectives.
• Provide training and support to school staff and families to help integrate therapy goals into daily activities and routines.
